Monday morning, 8'o'clock, you stumble out of bed
Pick up your backpack, untouched since yesterday, as always unprepared
You grab your headphones, switch the Walkman on
Turn into mixtape hero, while in your head you sing along
Run to the bus stop, catch it just in time, you know you will be late
Enter the classroom, all the looks on you, get detention after school
You grab your headphones, switch the Walkman on
Turn into mixtape hero, while in your head you sing along
They seem so long ago now - Schoolyard days
Don't dare to watch her, afraid she will blank you, your heart goes like a train
Notes on scraps of paper, left for her to find, but you know love's labour's lost
You grab your headphones, switch the Walkman on
Turn into mixtape hero, while in your head you sing along

After I discovered GUNSHIP with UNICORN, I went through all their material in a rush. They're whole discography is great, and I think this is the greatest. This album haunts me. I can't listen to it once. Even if I turn it off, I still hear it echoing in the back of my mind. GUNSHIP has a mastery of the bridge that reaches the level of mastery in this album that's just unrivaled. If you get only one album from GUNSHIP, get this one. Mailanka

Memories and Comeback Kid were my first introduction to this band. From then on - I've always gone to the Midnight for easy listening. Waiting for a bus - Standing in line - Going grocery shopping and pretty much everywhere and anywhere. You can listen to this track over and over again and I feel like it doesn't get old. solstra
