The dwindling love of childhood days, you hardly just can count the ways,
That you failed to please and never seemed to get it right
No matter what you chose to do, how hard you tried to bring it through,
Right from the start you learned to lock your heart
Attached to precious tiny things, free-floating on your broken wings
You’re bound to fall yet not afraid of what is to come
You felt so much, tried to explain but everything remained the same
Eventually when all words ceased, the anger put your soul on freeze
You keep running from that dark dream as long you can remember
All these times in pain you tried to escape in vain
You drown screaming in this dark dream with none to hold on to
Already way too deep to wake up from this endless sleep
You realize the bitter truth, endure its biting razor tooth
The seed being planted deep inside infected you so long
Unlike the ones that came before you won’t hand down the strain no more
Once for all you break the chain, bring downfall to this brutal reign,
Wipe out all with a purging flame
You keep running from that dark dream as long you can remember
All these times in pain you tried to escape in vain
You drown screaming in this dark dream with none to hold on to
Already way too deep to wake up from this endless sleep
After I discovered GUNSHIP with UNICORN, I went through all their material in a rush. They're whole discography is great, and I think this is the greatest. This album haunts me. I can't listen to it once. Even if I turn it off, I still hear it echoing in the back of my mind. GUNSHIP has a mastery of the bridge that reaches the level of mastery in this album that's just unrivaled. If you get only one album from GUNSHIP, get this one. Mailanka
The former Summer Twin steps into her own on a sophisticated solo record full of classic pop sounds and starry-eyed optimism. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 23, 2022
Memories and Comeback Kid were my first introduction to this band. From then on - I've always gone to the Midnight for easy listening. Waiting for a bus - Standing in line - Going grocery shopping and pretty much everywhere and anywhere. You can listen to this track over and over again and I feel like it doesn't get old. solstra
